Forschungsinteressen
Ich interessiere mich für die Frage, wie Gehirne sensorische Informationen integrieren um Verhalten zu produzieren und wie wiederum das Verhalten die Sinneswahrnehmung beeinflusst. Ich nähere mich dieser Fragestellung über meine vergleichende Forschung an verschiedenen Spinnenarten, die sich stark in ihrer Lebensweise und ihrer sensorischen Ausstattung (wie etwa Größe der Augen) unterscheiden.
Darüber hinaus bin ich seit langem an der Faunistik und Taxonomie von Libellen (Odonata) in Süd-Ost Asien interessiert.
Aktuell arbeite ich an:
- Funktionelle Rollen und Plastizität von Gehirnarealen bei Spinnen.
- Taxonomie und Verbreitung von Libellen auf Borneo und in Vietnam.
