Research Interests

I am interested in a wide range of topics in the fields of reproductive biology, behavioral ecology, functional morphology, and systematics from an evolutionary biology perspective. I am particularly interested in reproductive strategies and their morphological foundations. A new research focus is investigating the reasons behind the range expansion of the wasp spider. We want to know to what extent the northern and southern populations differ in their behavior, morphology, and genetics. We are also investigating the significance of phenotypic plasticity by examining changes in brain structures under the influence of various environmental conditions. We combine behavioral, histological, ultrastructural, and molecular methods.
