My research interest lies in the ecology and evolution of aquatic invertebrates, from freshwater snails to deep-sea jellyfish. My current postdoctoral project focuses on studying the diversity, distribution, ecology, and genetic connectivity of Southern Ocean gelatinous zooplankton. For this I am investigating environmental DNA as well as population genetics, and apply ecological niche modelling techniques. While affiliated with the University of Greiswald, my actual working environment is the Alfred-Wegener-Institut, Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polar- und Meeresforschung in Bremerhaven.
