In April 2025, Prof. Dr. Ali Arnaout and Dr. Anna Fomenko, together with Prof. Dr. Andreas Steininger, travelled to Ukraine to reaffirm Wismar University’s commitment to academic collaboration. The visit aimed to deepen cooperation in higher education, promote compliance education, and support shared European values.

On 24 April, a media briefing in Kyiv brought together stakeholders from Ukrainian universities, the Professional Network of Research and HE Managers (PNRM), the National Erasmus+ Office Ukraine, and compliance professionals. Prof Arnaout also gave a guest lecture at the Faculty of Economics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, highlighting the value of compliance roles in today’s global markets.

On 25 April, both representatives participated in the Compliance Leadership Forum 2025, followed by a diplomatic meeting at the German Embassy in Kyiv to explore future cooperation in education, research, and innovation.
