From the winter semester 2025/2026, Prof. Dr rer. nat. Marianne Schmolke (Vice-Rector for Education), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Daniela Schwerdt (again Vice-Rector for Research) and Emelie Gareis, Bachelor student in Civil Engineering (student Vice-Rector) will be part of the management team.
Emelie Gareis has been involved in the General Students' Committee (AStA) for many years, including in public relations and for the CampusOpenAir. In future, she will actively help shape university policy and bring student perspectives directly to the Rectorate.
Prof Dr Marianne Schmolke, who has worked at the Faculty of Business and Economics since 2020, will take over from Dr Michael Schleicher. She focuses on the areas of business informatics, digitalisation and promoting young talent.
Prof Dr Daniela Schwerdt was confirmed for a second term of office. She teaches at the Faculty of Engineering with a focus on materials science and plastics technology and is particularly involved in promoting research projects and doctoral students.
