The VolImpact-SSiRC Workshop on volcanic effects on atmosphere and climate

Workshop,Focus: COSMOS

Volcanic eruptions are one of the most important causes of natural climate variations on time scales of up to a decade. Although atmospheric effects of volcanic eruptions have been the subject of research for a long time, the understanding of many fundamental relationships has not yet been sufficiently clarified. This international workshop, jointly organized by the DFG (German Research Foundation), the research group VolImpact (Volcanic Impact on atmosphere and climate, FOR 2820) and the research initiative SSiRC (Stratospheric Sulfur and its Role in Climate), deals with current questions on volcanic influences and offers a forum for interaction for scientists from all over the world.
