The European Project Center (EPC) at Wismar University of Applied Sciences is part of a new project launching in summer 2025. “The good news came on Thursday, 13 March,” says a delighted Dr. Laima Gerlitz, Head of the EPC. The EPC is one of 22 partners within the “AI-SECRETT” project. The project focuses on promoting people's creative and innovative abilities through the intelligent, integrative and ethically conscious use of AI. “The project fits in well with the competencies of the EPC,” explains Dr. Laima Gerlitz, who was in charge of the preparation, networking and content-related work at Wismar University of Applied Sciences. In addition to the creative and cultural industries, AI already plays a major role in the LandStarK, T.A.B.-Tech, Art and Business and AIKnowIT projects.

Within the project, an online master's degree program on AI for creativity to support the triple transformation (digital, green and social) of seven EU vertical industries (agro-food, culture and creative, energy, housing, manufacturing, mobility and transport and non-tourism services) by 2030 and beyond will be developed and implemented.
In addition, the project will connect educational institutions with organizations from the public and private sectors to network outstanding expertise in the field of AI.A new innovative content delivery platform will also be established within the existing infrastructure of the University of Valencia.Last but not least, the pan-European network AISTEAM will be strengthened and consolidated within the project.

The EPC team, led by Dr. Laima Gerlitz, is looking forward to an exciting time in the project coordinated by Pau Rausell Köster from the University of Valencia. The project budget for the University of Wismar is 400,000 euros.
