The Faculty of Architecture ans Design has been organising its annual exhibition DIA (short for Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture) since 2006. Over the years, it has also become a platform for dialogue and a meeting place for the north-eastern design scene - lively, open and inspiring. All interested parties are cordially invited. The events are free of charge. The entire programme will be published online at www.fg.hs-wismar.de/dia.
This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the faculty building House 7, the first new building at Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences, after reunification, which was opened in 2000 and includes Houses 7a, 7b and 7c. The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Building and Property Administration was responsible for this construction project. A Europe-wide architectural competition was held before the design by the Cologne-based architectural firm „Lepel & Lepel” was commissioned for further development. House 7 houses studios and workshops, seminar rooms, offices and laboratories, for example.
