Ice Ecosystems Under Pressure – Julia Ehrlich on Good Impact

In a recent interview published on Good Impact, Julia Ehrlich, polar marine ecologist at the University of Rostock and SPP1158 coordinator, speaks about the dramatic changes taking place in Arctic ice-covered ecosystems.

As part of the SPP1158 community, Julia Ehrlich brings scientific context on how rising temperatures, melting sea ice, and shifting food webs are threatening not just individual species, but the structure of the entire ecosystem. The article explains how highly specialized animals like narwhals, but also polar bears and Arctic cod, are particularly vulnerable to these rapid changes. (only available on German)
