The Wismar University of Applied Sciences hosted the 106th Federal Conference of Deans of Economics, at which representatives of business schools from across Germany engaged in intensive discussions on the topic of transfer and change.
The conference was opened by the Minister for Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs, Bettina Martin, and the 2nd Deputy Mayor of the Hanseatic City of Wismar, Heike Bansemer. The Rector of Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Bodo Wiegand-Hoffmeister, and the Executive Director of the Federal Dean Conference, Prof. Dr. Rainer Ziegler, also addressed the participants.
The technical programme offered a wide range of ideas:
- Presentation of international degree programmes by Prof. Dr. Andreas Steininger
- Lecture by Dr. Christoph Schladör (Carnival Maritime GmbH) on decarbonisation at AIDA
- Impulses on start-ups and founding using the example of the master's programme in entrepreneurship by programme director Prof. Dr. Olaf Streuer
- Discussion on the financial performance of universities with Dagmar Hoffmann (WINGS GmbH) and Prof. Dr. Kai Neumann
- Insights into academic misconduct by Leyla Dörflinger and Tatsiana Gehrke (UNIwise)
Another highlight was the lecture by Dr. Christian Pegel, Minister of the Interior, Construction and Digitalisation of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, on 6 June on the topic of digitalisation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In addition, Prof. Dr. Tobias Brendel and Prof. Dr. Volker Grienitz presented innovative approaches to digitalisation in Wismar Business School.
Prof. Dr. Tobias Knedlik gave an overview of the 107th Federal Deans' Conference, which will take place in Fulda in autumn.
