On 25. June 2025 Prof. van den Berg will give her inaugural lecture as part of the Late Lunch Seminars on the topic of "Learning health systems – evidence-based regional healthcare".
In order to ensure high-quality care and prevention in paediatrics, innovative healthcare concepts are needed that go beyond the general healthcare system and that work well on a regional level in sparsely populated areas. Learning health systems are regional systems that incorporate research and health interventions as well as participation of practitioners and patients during every stage. The scientific evidence gained through these interventions flows black into the care system, creating a dynamic feedback cycle.
The Late Lunch Seminars, the Medical Faculty’s scientific lecture series, aim to promote networking across a wide range of research topics. The talks include presentations from local scientists and external project partners as well as inaugural lectures by newly appointed professors. The lectures are primarily aimed at the scientific staff of University Medicine, the University and non-university research institutions in Greifswald.
The talk is open to the university public and will be held in English. Registration is not required.
