This seminar will empower you to understand how you come across to others, assess the impact of your conversational approach on your communication partners, and improve your individual communication with supervisors and fellow researchers. Furthermore, you will be equipped with effective strategies to navigate resistance from your conversation partners and handle communication disruptions.

c) General phases of a conversation
d) Conversation and leadership styles

2. Current State: Your own conversational style

3. Professional Conversation Management
a) Preparatory steps
b) Leading and guiding during the conversation
i. Being confident and respectful in all phases of the conversation
ii. Essential components of successful conversation flow
iii. Active listening • Formulating and understanding messages clearly
• Decoding behaviors: Transactional Analysis • Recognizing and resolving conflicts • Interpreting conversation pauses correctly
c) Follow-up of the conversation.

Objectives
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
• Identify key elements and strategies for effective communication in various contexts within your doctoral journey.
• Develop quick strategies to effectively deal with conflicts and address them in a constructive manner.
• Have a clearer sense of how you are perceived by others and adjust your communication style accordingly to maximize impact.
• Create a plan of action to navigate and manage challenging situations with colleagues and team members through friendly and respectful communication.

Methods
A combination of theoretical insights, practical exercises, and interactive discussions.
